The Heritage Barn is a countryside wedding and event venue in Conover, North Carolina, owned and run by two local families. Inside our climate-controlled barn, soaring ceilings, chandeliers, and an indoor bar set the scene for celebrations of up to 150 guests — and with our grounds, room for up to 350. Every booking includes up to 12 hours of exclusive access, so your day unfolds at your pace, in a place that feels like your own.

The Venue
How many guests can The Heritage Barn hold?
Up to 150 guests inside the climate-controlled barn, and up to 350 when you use the barn together with the patios and grounds.
Where is The Heritage Barn located?
We’re at 2575 Emmanuel Church Rd in Conover, North Carolina, on 30 acres in the Catawba Valley. We’re about 15 minutes from Hickory, 20 minutes from Lake Norman, and 45 minutes from Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Can we have our ceremony and reception at the same venue?
Yes. Choose from three outdoor ceremony sites (the Hillside, the Walnut Grove under Catawba County’s oldest black walnut trees, or the Meadow) or hold the ceremony inside the barn. The reception takes place in the barn and on the string-lit covered patios.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
If bad weather is on the way, we move your outdoor ceremony to a tent or inside the barn at no extra charge.
Is there a place for the wedding party to get ready?
Yes. The bridal suite is bright and naturally lit, with mirrors and plenty of seating. The groom’s lounge has a big flat-screen TV, VR headsets, a Nintendo Switch, shuffleboard, darts, and a mini fridge.
What's included with every booking?
Tables, chairs, and white floor-length linens; heating and air-conditioning; the bridal suite and groom’s lounge; rehearsal time; indoor and outdoor furniture; the patios and grounds; complimentary parking; and trash removal.
Planning & Booking
Can we bring our own caterer and vendors?
Yes. We have a preferred vendor list, but you’re free to hire your own, as long as each vendor is licensed and insured. There’s no in-house catering, so you choose your caterer, and they get a caterer’s kitchen with an ice machine and commercial refrigerator.
Can we bring our own alcohol?
Yes. The Heritage Barn is licensed for beer and wine, you supply the drinks, and there are indoor and outdoor bars. Serving liquor requires a special event license, an extra bar fee, and a security guard. The Classic and Heritage packages include bartending coordination.
How much time do we get on the wedding day?
Depending on your package, you get 9 to 12 hours of exclusive access, and you can add more time. You can drop off personal items and alcohol the night before. Events end at 11 PM, and a later end time may be available for an extra fee.
Do you offer wedding coordination?
Every package includes on-site support. The Essential package comes with a dedicated venue representative for planning and the wedding day. The Classic and Heritage packages include a dedicated wedding coordinator.
How do we reserve our date?
A signed contract and a $1,000 deposit hold your date. After that, you pay on a flexible schedule. The best first step is a tour: book a tour.
Do you host events other than weddings?
Yes. Families also celebrate baby showers, graduation parties, reunions, and other milestones at The Heritage Barn. Ask us about our elopement package for smaller weddings, too.
